Travellers will be able to arrive in one day to the Choquequirao Archaeological Park, thanks to a road that shortens the distance between the sectors of Ccotomarca-San Francisco. The 32-kilometre road was opened this week.
The four-hour route by car covers the city of Cusco-Mollepata-Huamanpata or Mallao-Bella Vista-Ccotomarca-San Francisco. From there, travellers will walk for about five to six hours to Maranpata. Finally, the Inca citadel of Choquequirao will be reached after an hour or an hour and a half of trekking from Maranpata.
